Scenic Walking Trails

Explore Middle Island's scenic walking trails, surrounded by beautiful forest, coastlines, and wildlife. Need a break? No worries! Our trails are lined with memorial benches, take a rest and enjoy the view.

Memorial Benches

These benches have been purchased by individuals in memory of a loved one. Feel free to use them, we just ask that you be respectful.

The Beach

Relax by the water, soak up the sun and have some fun! Middle Island offers a lovely beach, but be warned there are NO lifeguards so please use at your own risk.

Historic Murals and Monuments

Engage in Middle Island's rich history as you stroll along our walking trails. Take in our historical monuments, murals, and informative signs to learn about those who shaped our community.

Interpretive Centre and Museum

Visit the Interpretive Centre to discover the heritage of Middle Island. Our knowledgeable staff will assist you in exploring the Island’s history and the museum's artifacts, which were either discovered on the Island or donated by community members.

Picnic Areas and Gazebos

The Island offers many lovely picnic spots, whether you prefer to relax in a sunny clearing or stay cool under a shaded gazebo we have a spot for you!

On-Site Restaurant

Getting hungry or thirsty while adventuring through the Island? Stop at “Chi’s Some Tasty” for refreshments, open daily from 11:00AM-7:00PM

Bird Watching

Keep an eye out for the many different bird species that call the Island home, it is a wonderful destination for bird watchers and nature lovers.

Summer Students

Each summer Middle Island Irish Historical Park is fortunate to welcome a team of dedicated summer students to help out around the Island. Their hard work to keep the Island clean, set up for events, weddings, and help educate and answer visitors questions at the interpretive centre are all important tasks that help keep the Island running.

The success of the park’s summer season would not be possible without their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. You may see these students around the Island helping wherever possible, feel free to say hi or strike up a conversation!
