Frequently Asked Questions 

Is there an admission fee?
No, admission to Middle Island and the Interpretive Centre/Museum is completely free of charge.

What are your hours of operation?
We’re excited to welcome visitors back starting May 1st, 2024. The park gates will be open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

What are the museum hours?
The Interpretive Centre and Museum will open for the season on May 1st, 2025, operating daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Is swimming permitted?
Yes, there is a beach area available. However, please note there are no lifeguards on duty, so swimming is at your own risk.

Can we bring our dog?
Absolutely! Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed at all times. Please remember to clean up after your pet.

Are BBQs allowed on the Island?
For safety reasons, BBQs are not permitted. However, you're more than welcome to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenic surroundings.

Is there a boat dock available?
Unfortunately, we no longer have a boat dock on the island.

Are restrooms available?
Yes, there are three Port-A-Potties, including one that is wheelchair accessible, located near the Museum.

Are there changing facilities?
There are no changing rooms at this time.

Is parking available on the island?
Yes, ample parking is available on the island itself. Please note that parking on the causeway is not permitted.

Do you host any special events?
Yes! Join us for:

- Irish Festival Sunday on July 20th, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

- New Brunswick Day Celebration on August 4th, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Are there picnic shelters available?
Yes, we offer three picnic shelters and a large kiosk, perfect for family outings or group gatherings.
